Countdown to Denton Arts & Jazz Festival 2012

Get new foot pads for your walking shoes, slather on the SPF 45 sunscreen and get your ears and eyes ready for the 2012 Denton Arts & Jazz Festival (http://www.dentonjazzfest.com/) … as of this post, its 10 days away:

Fri, April 27th, 5-11 p.m.       Sat, April 28th, 10 a.m. – 11 p.m.       Sun, April 29th, 11 a.m – 9 p.m.

DAJF is celebrating 32 years of music, outdoor activities, art and entertainment.
Looking over this year’s festival layout, regulars will notice a big change.

FUN IS THE THING and JAZZ IS KING!

The Denton Quakertown Park, on 20 acres in the heart of downtown, provides the perfect setting for the free, 2-½ day event. The Denton Festival Foundation, Inc., in cooperation with the City of Denton and the Dallas/Fort Worth American Federation of Musicians, produces the festival with support from individual and corporate sponsorships.
Over 2,700 musicians, artists and performers attract more than 200,000 annually to enjoy the culturally diverse music and art.
Headliners: On the Jazz Stage –
Lee Ritenour, Friday 9 p.m.; Los Lonely Boys, Saturday 9 p.m.; Brave Combo, Sunday 7 p.m.
  • Move to the beat at one of 7 stages with jazz, blues and cross-cultural music.
  • Get in the groove and buy a special piece of art from 175 juried artists and crafters.
  • The 12-and-under set can mold, draw, sculpt and create at the Children’s Art Tent and make music in the Percussion Tent.
  • Treat yourself to delicious offerings at one of 6 food courts and don’t miss the games and activities for the young and young at heart.
