Friday, April 20, 2012:

  • One O’Clock Lab Band: Clinic/Concert at the Performing Art Center in Allen, Texas – ALL DAY
  • Senior Recital: Maria Penatzer, 5-6 p.m. in Kenton Hall, Room 282 in the UNT Music Building.

  • One O’Clock Lab Band: Clinic/Concert at the Performing Art Center in Allen, Texas – ALL DAY

Sunday, April 22, 2012:

  • Faculty Recital: The Groove Merchants bring its groove to Kenton Hall in the UNT Music Building, with the stellar line-up of Steve Weist (Associate Professor. Director of the One O’Clock Lab Band, Coordinator of Lab Bands, Conducting College Jazz Ensembles, Applied jazz trombone;) Brad Leali (Assistant Professor. Applied jazz saxophone, Three O’Clock Lab Band, jazz performance fundamentals for saxophone;) Ed Soph (Professor. Applied jazz drumset, rhythm section master class;) Lynn Seaton (Associate Professor. Applied jazz bass, improvisation, rhythm section master class;) and Stefan Karlsson (Professor. Applied jazz piano, improvisation, small groups, rhythm section master class) – 5:30 p.m.
  • Jazz Piano Lecturer Michael Palma and “Shadowboxer” will be performing in concert at 8 p.m. in Kenton Hall of the UNT music building.
    “Shadowboxer” will be performing all original music and this concert will be filmed by Mystics Creative production

    company and will be released along with Michael’s debut CD early this summer all over the world including Itunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, etc. Come be apart of this monumental event that will be the launching of Palma’s most ambitious project yet.
    “Shadowboxer” is: Michael Palma (faculty) – Piano and keyboard, Gavin Kelso (UNT grad) – bass, and Matt Young (current student) – drums.
