About

I started this band in late 2005 with Clark Erickson, the idea stemming from Clark double booking Rob Avsharian and Ross Pederson for a gig. We thought the concept of using two drummers in conjunction with guitar effects and multiple keyboards would be rather fun, focusing on groove and free improvisation rather than tunes. For the first gig, both of us sketched out some melodic ideas in case the whole thing tanked and we’d be standing there wondering what the hell to play. Fortunately, we never got to the charts. Mike League was part of the original lineup, as was Ross Pederson. Mike’s Snarky Puppy started to blow up and Cooper Appelt came on board in 2008. Ross has moved to the greener pastures of Brooklyn, NY so Colin Hinton joined up for the musical nonsense in early 2009.

Since we don’t have a repertoire per se, every show is different. Some are more rocked out or funk oriented or electronica-esque. It reflects what we’re thinking or working on individually at the the time and then all the parts come together once a month at the Greenhouse here in little d, the drafty city, Denton, TX.

We recorded at Reeltime Audio in January 2009 and all things being equal, it should be out by the end of time …  seriously.
