One more fabulous week of Jazz music events, among so many other programs and activities in Denton, before the Thanksgiving holiday quiet. Though weather turns cold this weekend, and remains into next week, the copious live music – especially Denton Jazz – will keep you warm and very busy. Enjoy.

Thursday, November 21:

Friday, November 22:

  • UNT Two O’Clock Lab Band at Sweetwater Grill & Tavern, 115 S. Elm St., 7-9 p.m. – Free
  • Classical Guitar at Banter Bistro, 219 W. Oak St., at 6 p.m., Bruce Bond at 7 p.m., Texas Sky at 8 p.m., Comedy Denton Comedy Collective at 10 p.m.– All Free
  • UNT Jazz Singers in Voertman Hall at 8 p.m. – $8/10
  • Mariachi Quetzal performs at La Milpa Mexican Restaurant, 820 S. I-35E, at 8 p.m. – no cover

Saturday, November 23:

Sunday, November 24:

Sunday, November 24 at 3:30p.m., the students enrolled in graduate improvisation will present a recital in Kenton Hall. Performing students are: Miles Johnson, Brian Handeland, Hee Sung Kim, Jamie Edwards, Mi Wha Choi, Ransom Miller, Julian Sutherlan, Hye Min Lee, Niels Rosendahl, Alex Cannon, Patrick Carr, Dave Farrell, Jared Farney. Director Fred Hamilton said he would like to see a lot of our friends and musical colleagues at our performance.
  • Dance and sway to the romantic Gypsy Jazz stylings of String Theory Manouche at Sweetwater Grill & Tavern, 115 S. Elm St., 7-9 p.m. – Free

  • Bone Doggie’s Open Mic at the Abbey Underground, 101 W. Walnut St., at 9 p.m. – FREE

Monday, November 25:

  • Vintage Jazz Society meets at the Center for Visual Arts, 400 E. Hickory St., 9:30 a.m. for discussion, followed by a jam session at 10:30 a.m.
  • Late Night Jazz with Trumpeter/Arranger Kevin Swaim at the Greenhouse Restaurant, 600 No. Locust, 10 p.m.-12 a.m.

Tuesday, November 26:
