Fort Worth arts organization hosts Django Birthday Fest

January 22, 2014

This weekend!

A5ADjangoArtMissive from String Theory Manouche spokesman and fabulous violinist – Mark Mikonis:

Yeah, the joint was flat jumpin’ at one of our favorite venues: Sweetwater Grill & Tavern (http://www.sweetwatergrillandtavern.com), located at the top of the Golden Triangle in Denton, Texas. Our first concert for 2014 kicked the new year off with a bang!

  • Coming up next …and very soon—sorry for the short notice…is our first ever appearance at Crossroads Winery (http://www.crwineryfrisco.com) in fabulous Frisco, Texas. We play Friday, Jan. 24, from 8-11 p.m.

Here’s what they have to say about themselves:

At CrossRoads Winery Owner John Wilson and Wine Maker John Otis have one goal; to produce the highest quality wines able to be served everywhere from banquet halls to backyard bar-b-ques. With a firm conviction that great wines are the result of climate and soil, the vineyard, and wine making philosophy, the CrossRoads duo strives to meet this goal with the same passion and innovative spirit as the great winemakers who came before them.

Arts5thAveString Theory Manouche closes the The 11th Annual Django Reinhardt Birthday Festival, Sunday, Jan. 26. (The festival starts on Friday, Jan. 24, but we close it out on Sunday.)

If you’ve been to this Fort Worth tradition before, you know the drill: a 3-day total immersion in all things Django. If you haven’t been, now is the time to start. There’s far too much information to post here, so please visit the website of Arts Fifth Avenue (the arts organization that started the festival and hosts this shindig) and read all about it!
