Summer cools down, while Jazz heats up this week

Denton Live Jazz is jumping this week with University of North Texas Summer Jazz workshops, visiting guests and musicians who now live other places. Check out the variety of gigs this week, and enjoy the shows.

Wednesday, July 16:

  • Every Wednesday from 8-10:30 p.m., Jeffry Eckels presents, “Jazz at the White House (on the corner of Scripture and Bryan in Denton, Texas), a Vocal Showcase.”

This week – it’s none other than the incomparable, Mistress of Scat Rosana Eckert! Joining Rosana is Paul Metzger on guitar, Matt Young on

drums and yours truly on bass. (This week is Jazz Camp Week at UNT and rumor has it that there may be some “special guests” sitting in with the band. Come enjoy the fabulous music and awesome hang! See you there! And don’t forget to share this with your friends.)
The White House is Denton’s favorite live music establishment featuring a wonderful listening atmosphere, great beer, wine, food and coffee drinks. No cover.

About Oui Bis: based in Denton, Texas, the band plays throughout the North Texas area. Featuring its own rendition of dance music from a variety of American eras including old standards, Latin American jazz, Parisian Gypsy Jazz, both Northern and Southern American Old Time, Irish Traditional, and music from written by modern performers.
