For more than 10 years, Banter Bistro, 219 W. Oak Street, in Downtown Denton made its mark as a hub for Denton’s

community of artists and musicians with the folks who love their craft. There, one could find various menu items suited to the tastes of vegans, carnivores, beer and wine aficionados and coffee-heads. One could also find a comfortable spot to study, connect with other students, or poets, or artists, but many times musicians.

Now, the final days of Banter brings together many of the performers and bands that have graced the floors, and stages of the Bohemian bistro one more time.

Today, Saturday, March 28 – The line-up is:

Begins with Melissa Ratley playing her clean, clear Country/Folk from 3:30-4:15 p.m., followed by Jessica Curran at 4:30 p.m.

Beginning at 6 p.m. (as they kicked off music at Banter more than 10 years ago) Mr Joe and his Jazz Band plays Dixieland

Jazz. Finally, a 7 p.m., Le Not So Hot Klub duh Denton plays their sweet Gypsy Jazz. “Banter is closing (But Sweetwater ain’t).”

Yes, Le Not Sos, the Irish Sessions and many other bands have already found new venues, mainly at Sweetwater Grill & Tavern, 115 S. Elm St.

The Banter Bistro building will soon be a new restaurant called the 940s.
